How Much Clearance Is Required When Arranging Storage Shelves?
April 12, 2022
When planning the layout of the storage shelf plan, how much is the gap between the shelves appropriate? Are there any relevant regulations? Is there a different clearance between using an electric forklift and using a stacker? Are there certain requirements for the sorting of storage shelves? If the storage shelves of the warehouse at this stage are side by side with a safe passage in the middle, can it be changed to leave a safe passage on one side? And how wide should the safety passage in the middle be? I am not clear about the warehouse, but I have already done related engineering projects. Only after the inspection found that the utilization rate of the warehouse is too low, what should I do?
Today we will answer the above questions:
1. According to the layout of the warehouse, where should the export be set more appropriate? What model of forklift is used in the warehouse? This should be considered first. The warehouse depends not only on the area of the warehouse, but also on whether the storage of goods saves time and effort. One kind of shelf is installed along the direction of 45 meters, and the other type of shelf is installed along the direction of 9.5 meters.
2. If the warehouse needs to use forklifts or trucks, there is no need to put up shelves in the middle. If the goods are stored manually, generally stay between 80 and 120 mm. If it is operated with a forklift, it needs to be left at least 2 meters. This is relative to the smallest forklift. Therefore it is recommended to keep 2 meters 4 or 2 meters 6. This should be no problem.
3. According to the specific situation, including the goods stored on the storage shelves, the access equipment, such as electric forklifts, must be confirmed by rotating intervals.
Under normal circumstances, it is 2 meters up and down. If there is an electric forklift, it depends on the model and specifications of the electric forklift. If it is a domestic large and medium-sized electric forklift, it will be 4 meters long. If it is a small forklift or only a hydraulic trailer, then 2.5 meters to 3 meters is enough.
Fourth, if there is no standard spacing between the storage shelves, the general confirmation methods are:
1. If the actual operation is carried out in a manual way, the distance between the warehouse locations should exceed the total width of the larger package commonly used on the warehouse location + 20cm;
2. If the bottom of the cargo space is placed on the pallet, the top layer is stored manually, and the distance between the cargo spaces is the rotatable diameter of "manual forklift + pallet" + 20cm;
3. If the cargo space is accessed by an electric forklift, the spacing between the cargo spaces is the rotatable diameter of "electric forklift + upper pallet" + the distance between the commercial insurance for turning around.
5. If the warehouse uses a fuel forklift, the distance between the warehouses is the rotatable diameter of the "fuel forklift + placing the pallet" + the reversal insurance distance.
Generally speaking, it can be roughly calculated according to the above situation, but it is better to set it with different inventory distances, which can effectively save inventory space, improve storage rate and warehouse management efficiency.
