The Difference Between Wooden Shelves And Steel Shelves

From the point of view of use, wooden shelves, especially storage shelves, are bulky and cannot be adjusted. Steel shelves, due to the high load-bearing capacity of the steel itself, can also achieve high heavy-duty forces under lightweight materials, which is impossible for wooden shelves to hit.

In terms of materials, the cost of a typical steel shelf is slightly higher than that of a wooden shelf. This is from the perspective of warehousing. If the same purpose is achieved, the wood is generally slightly cheaper than the steel in terms of the cost of raw materials processed. Special specifications may result in excessive waste of wood, except for this condition.

From a processing point of view, the cost of steel shelves is much smaller than that of wooden shelves. Steel shelves are generally produced in batches, while the processing procedures for wooden shelves are more complicated. Each process is time consuming and the entire processing cycle is long. This is a shortcoming that wooden shelves cannot solve, which greatly increases the overall cost of wooden shelves.

From the surface treatment, steel shelves are fast, high quality and low cost. Moreover, wooden shelves are often painted, which is slow and costly.

In terms of longevity, wooden shelves are generally only five to six years, while steel shelves are used properly and can even be used for twenty years. Of course, if it is used for display, the ease of deformation for wooden shelves, it is possible to make a variety of shapes, which is not easily achieved by steel shelves.

From the perspective of handling, once the wooden shelves are formed, they cannot be disassembled under normal circumstances, which greatly increases the difficulty of handling the shelves, which leads to the direct cost of throwing away the secondary cost. The steel shelf can be easily disassembled and assembled without the cost of re-production of the shelf.
